Brenda believes that true healing comes from addressing the whole person, mind, body and spirit.  Brenda utilizes client-centered interventions to develop a therapeutic alliance that meets clients where they are and works with them to develop a client invested treatment plan.  Her counseling style is structured, but not directive. Treatment approaches she utilizes include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Reality Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and clinical hypnotherapy.

Brenda is licensed by the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. She is also a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and maintains a national certification as a National Certified Counselor.  She received her Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.  Brenda has worked as a clinician in inpatient and outpatient programs, programs in the criminal justice system, Tarrant County Mental Health Authority, and she has provided treatment in Rehab Without Walls and medication assistance programs. Brenda has been working with trauma survivors for the past 5 years and those struggling with addictions and dual diagnosis for the past 20 years.
