Remedies, Oils, and Herbs for Stress and Trauma

PTSD, Anxiety, Trauma...those are words we are hearing a lot these days. It has definitely been a season for those emotions to be at a heightened level. While working with my clients, there have been a few remedies, oils and teas I have recommended, and I would like to share those with you.

Homeopathic Remedies

When you have a sudden onset of shock, accident, or exposure to traumatic news, the homeopathic remedy aconitum napellus is most helpful. It can be a great calm in a storm, no matter what type.

PTSD can become a chronic condition needing close attention and long periods of treatment. The #1 remedy for dealing with PTSD is ignatia amara. Named after St. Ignatia, this remedy is also wonderful for grief, anxiety, panic attacks, regret, mental exhaustion, worry, homesickness and breakdown after prolonged stress.

There are many more homeopathic remedies that can help depending on your situation.

Essential Oils

As an Aromatherapist and herbal consultant I can't write this post without recommending those modalities as well for these situations.

Oils I recommend for anxiety and stress: Ylang Ylang, Lavender, Orange, Rose, Geranium, Lime, Cardamom, Peppermint, and Bergamot. There are many more options, but these are great ones to start with. We also have several products that I have blended that are available at the office, or we can ship to you, if needed.

Herbal Teas

Teas I recommend are chamomile, tulsi, lemon balm and lavender. There are also great combo teas that are commercially made, such as Calming by Yogi teas and Stress Ease by Traditional Medicinals. There are many more available online and in stores.

Although I do recommend these wonderful remedies, you should consult with your health practitioner before administering any of these. Homeopathic remedies do not interfere with any prescribed medication and have no side effects.

We do recommend that you book a private consultation if you want to learn how to use these suggestions in a more in-depth way but realize that is not always an option. Let us know how we can help. We are here for you.
